I find the Charlotte Tilbury website to be confusing because I have the palest shade; Fair/Medium, which is printed on the tube and the outer box. Duplicate a high-end product or never buy the same shade twice.

Many shades can be worn as either a highlighter or blush, each blending effortlessly into skin. The wands are formulated with hydrating glycerin and smoothing silica to keep the skin looking and feeling its healthiest, per the brand. The packaging is slim with a unique curve lip hugging tip. You are able to apply precisely with this sponge tip applicator. I scraped about half off the wand and that seemed perfect for a opaque application. After a few months of having both the high-end products and their dupes, I have to say that the dupes reign supreme this time around.

It had a lightweight, thin consistency that was more gel-like, which was particularly easy to work with over base products (and still worked well over bare skin!) as it did not lift up product nor did it create patchiness. They wore between eight and nine hours on me before fading visibly. As you can see, in comparison to the other side of my face, I did look a bit more chiseled. This product created more of a "shadow" on my face, a subtle contour versus that harsh Instagram contour circa 2016, so you're after a more natural look, this wand delivers.
I, much prefer a cream contour, which is why I thought the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand would work well within my makeup routine. The first time you use it, you have to squeeze firmly to get the product to penetrate the foam, domed applicator. I have to say the packaging looks a lot more luxurious than it feels, and I have to be honest, it doesn’t feel like a nearly £30 product.
While I would not wear this product alone, it definitely laid the groundwork for me to follow up with another powder contour product, which would make the overall contoured effect on my face that much stronger. Blending it out left behind a very subtle hint of color, so I added an extra layer. Then, I went ahead and contoured my forehead and chin — stopping in the middle of the face — to compare if there was a real difference in the buildable coverage. Ever since Madison Beer mentioned how much she loves one of the shades, the wands have been flying off the shelves for months at a time.
NEW! MAGIC CLEANSE, TONE & GLOW DUOSKINCARE KIT
It wasn’t dry and I thought I had found the perfect nude pink liquid matte lipstick in Charlotte Darling. After a few hours of wear it dried my lips out. Adding more product to make up for the normal wear off just made it drier and kind of flaky.

And, in the pattern of love at second sight, NYX Sweet Cheeks cream blush blew me away too. But after a quick swipe of a makeup wipe and some experience under my belt I can honestly say—it’s probably the most pigmented, long-wearing blush I’ve ever used. It’s also worth mentioning that, while the packaging may not be as pretty as its high-end counterpart, it allowed for a clean application and features a simple screw top that kept me (a person prone to mess-making) from making a mess. I’m always a sucker for the new Charlotte Tilbury new launches. Recently there was a new Hollywood Collection. With a few new contour and highlight items as well as the liquid lipstick.

I don’t prefer one over the other, both tools work really well with the Contour Wand. The Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand is £29 and available from Cult Beauty. It has really sleek packaging, with a bronze colored plastic tube, a rose gold plastic lid and a sponge applicator where the product seeps through, so you can apply the contour makeup directly to the skin. In the video, Tilbury says that no other beauty product compares to the “dreamy, fresh, glass-like, candlelight skin” effect of the wands. This was a very comfortable liquid matte lipstick. Compared to what I’ve tried this lightweight formula is more flexible and less drying than others.
Per the brand, it’s supposed to have an “extreme Hollywood luminous finish … that imparts high gloss, brightening and highlighting effects,” which I’d completely agree with. It’s a squeeze tube with a round medium sized sponge tip applicator. Off allows no product to pass through, On–you get the picture. You can squeeze too much through at once so go slow. It’s sheer enough to not be frosty, pigmented enough to be more than just a hint of sparkle.
It's easy to use, and it gives a subtle contoured effect to the cheekbones, which is fantastic when doing makeup for a camera. I included both an unblended and blended swatch, so you could see the difference, but it’s still very warm even when blended in with a brush. I feel those with a neutral to warm undertone, might find this shade a little better suited, but it does look a little muddy on my cool toned, super pale skin. I still will give credit where credit is due.
I seriously have nothing bad to say about the formula, it does what it should do and gives the most natural-looking contour. It works well on top of several foundations I’ve tried, blends well into the skin and you can add bronzer and blush on top with ease. Never a muddy, patchy finish or foundation that separated. As I said, I used the shade Light-Medium, and in my opinion, one layer wouldn’t be enough for medium skin tones, but since the formula is very buildable, I think a total of 2 to 3 layers would do the trick. In all, I can totally understand why people love this product.
The average rating based on all reviewed shade(s) in this formula is shown below. I'm Simone de Vlaming, and I'm the founder of Beautymone. I'm a beauty expert and have been featured as an authority at Glam, Bustle, Mic, The List, and more. I'm also a trusted beauty reviewer at StyleCraze and MomJunction. I use a few dots around the places I want to contour (mainly the hollows of my cheeks and around the hairline), which is often enough.
I signed up for restock lists, Charlotte Tilbury texts that I’m too lazy to turn off, and refreshed their website twice a day, waiting for the drop. Similarly, you'll also want to consider the finish of the product. Gerstein likes to use liquid contours that have a matte or blurring effect — as opposed to something more shimmery — to mimic the skin's natural texture. The Charlotte Tilbury Contour Wand is a great way to add definition and shape to your face.
